NASA featured an impressive image in the “Astronomical Photo of the Day” on this Friday (August 25th), displaying a sequence of images of Saturn, the second-largest planet in our Solar System.

These photographs were captured over six years with a one-year gap between each image, providing rare and amazing records of the planet from various angles. For instance, you can observe Saturn’s south pole emerging from the darkness of winter after nearly a decade of shadows and intense cold.
Saturn in Opposition
This weekend, on August 27, 2023, Saturn will be directly opposite the Sun in Earth’s skies, making it brighter and more visible than at any other time of the year. However, it’s worth noting that the planet’s iconic rings won’t be visible to the naked eye.
